SUMMARY:Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:Forest Bathing\nMay 21st – 2pm – 4pm\nLimited to 12 participants\nPrice: $30 \nJoin us with Forest Bathing guide and ecological artist Todd Lynch for a refreshing day of discovery\, awakening and art making and leave with ways you can integrate these practices into your own rhythms. Forest Bathing combined with ecological art making can offer us ways to explore our relationships across many levels. These practices root us in the sensuality of what is real\, contextual\, and present now. Within both practices\, there are no prescribed outcomes\, only experiences. \nForest Bathing and art practiced together offer participants a chance to deepen their connection to “Nature” – which can be healing and restorative to both them and their communities. Slowing down\, listening\, observing\, and witnessing intentional relationships are critical parts of both forest bathing and art making. \nREGISTER HERE \nAbout Todd: Todd Lynch is an artist\, garden designer and Forest Bathing guide. His passion is to connect people to the world around them through art\, plants\, beauty and immersion into nature. Todd is an ANFT certified forest therapy guide and has led many walks that connect people to place\, plants and ecology. SUMMARY:Climate Action Series: Climate Action through Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Climate Action through Conversation: Promoting climate action through interpersonal communication  \nA conversation with Ezra Markowitz\nTuesday\, October 10th at 5:30 PM\nat the Hitchcock Center for the Environment\nRegistration required\, donations appreciated \nMost people spend very little time talking about environmental issues with their colleagues\, friends and family members. Yet research shows that these are exactly the conversations we need to be having in order to promote greater public engagement with the climate change and sustainability challenges we face. In this talk\, I will present some of the research we and others have done on the key role of interpersonal communication—everyday social interactions and conversations—in climate change decisions. I will then highlight how this work can be used to support pro-environmental decision-making across a variety of issues. This will be a moderated conversation with lots of time for Q&A.   \nREGISTER TO JOIN US

SUMMARY:Ice and Snow: The Cold Story
DESCRIPTION:Ice and Snow: The Cold Story \nwith John Green\nTuesday\, December 5\, 6:30pm – 8pm\nRegistration and Donations appreciated  \nWinter is beautiful and John Green’s photos will remind you!  \nHere in New England we are fortunate to have four distinct seasons.  Although\, due to warming climate the annual temperature average may be higher now than in the past.  In southern New England we still experience the influx of migrating birds and blossoming flowers in the spring; thunderstorms and rainbow during the summer and colorful foliage\, reverse bird migration and leaf fall in the autumn.  However\, recent winters have been less dynamic than those we have experienced historically; landscapes are seldom totally transformed by snow cover and waterways are rarely completely  immobilized by icy conditions due to sustained frigid temperatures.  Fortunately\, John has been photographing wintry conditions dating back to the mid 1970’s and the this program ICE and SNOW is the result of my love for the season of cold.  \nREGISTER HERE
