SUMMARY:Air Source Heat Pumps – The Latest in Efficient Heating & Cooling
DESCRIPTION:with Center for EcoTechnology\nWednesday\, December 6\, 7- 8:30pm\nFREE\, Registration appreciated\n \nAn air source heat pump is a system which transfers heat from outside to inside a building\, or vice versa. Air at any temperature above absolute zero contains some energy. An air-source heat pump transfers (‘pumps’) some of this energy as heat from one place to another\, for example between the outside and inside of a building. This can provide space heating or cooling. A single system can be designed to transfer heat in either direction\, to heat or cool the interior of the building in winter and summer respectively.

SUMMARY:Homeschool II - Connections: Where Does it Come From?
DESCRIPTION:Did you ever wonder how fiber becomes thread? Do you want to learn how to turn grass into ice cream? In such a product-oriented society\, it is easy to lose connection with how things are made and the origins of the things we use every day. By researching the path of how a product is made we are able to see firsthand the energy that goes into making each product. With games\, crafts\, special guests\, home projects and field trips we will develop an appreciation for the resources\, time and energy used to make products that we use daily.   \nwith Jeff Mazur\, Hitchcock Educator\nAges 9-12\nTuesdays\, 10:00am-2:00pm\nSeptember 12\, 19\, October 3\, 10\, 24\, 31\, November 7\, 14\, 21\, December 4\nMembers: $420/Non-members: $450\nRegister here
