What Lives in Your Backyard?

Artist: Asher Garretson

Currently on exhibit

My name is Asher Garretson. I have been a photographer ever since I found my dad’s camera at age 8. Since then, I have been constantly snapping away with any kind of camera, well aware that great pictures don’t often come first try. My parents began to notice my fascination with cameras, and on the final night of Hanukkah, December 20, 2017, I was gifted a Nikon camera.

I gleefully began snapping pictures of my dog, and my parents knew they had made the right choice. As my career as an amateur photographer slowly moved on, I shared some of my photos with my family and friends. I am 11 years old and live in Northampton, Massachusetts with my family and 2 dogs. I hope that after seeing my exhibit, people will begin to appreciate nature a little more.

What Lives in Your Backyard features Asher’s photographs of flora and fauna from Arizona and Massachusetts.
