Do you want to see what the Hitchcock Homeschool program is all about? Sign up for our Discovery Days\, our one-time programs about science and nature. Our Discovery Day programs are appropriate for everyone from first-time to veteran homeschoolers\, and we welcome almost-6 year olds who are interested in joining our class in the fall. All programs begin and end at the Hitchcock Center\, even on field trip days. \nFebruary 2\nAnimal Detectives: Uncovering Animal Tracks and Signs\nToday you will become an animal detective! DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 23 (snow date: Sunday\, January 24)\n10:00am-12:30pm OR 1:30-4:00pm\n$10/girl\nPlease call to register for this special program.\nDo you love watching energy flow from one thing to another\, like in marble runs and falling dominoes? Do you want to explore your inner engineer and problem-solver? Then you will love our Rube Goldberg Machines program! We will spend this program collaborating and building Rube Goldberg machines – contraptions that perform a simple task in the most complicated way possible. In both individual and group settings\, girls will get to experiment with everyday objects to create Rube Goldberg machines and complete challenges. Troops and individual girls welcome to this Girl Scout program. Space is limited. We will possibly go out side so everyone should be prepared with warm gear for playing outside in winter. Other than that the program will take place indoors. It would be helpful for groups to bring snacks or lunch\, as people are usually hungry at the end of a 2.5 hour program!

Do you want to see what the Hitchcock Homeschool program is all about? Sign up for our Discovery Days\, our one-time programs about science and nature. In a mixed-age setting\, we explore cool topics at the Hitchcock Center\, meet science experts\, and sometimes go on field trips. Our Discovery Day programs are appropriate for everyone from first-time to veteran homeschoolers\, and we welcome almost-6 year olds who are interested in joining our class in the fall. All programs begin and end at the Hitchcock Center\, even on field trip days. \nTuesday\, January 16\nOwl-ology\nHave you ever wondered about these nocturnal hunters? At this program we will dive into the world of owls\, learning about their adaptations\, sounds and calls\, and making an art project to take home! Come prepared for an outdoor winter romp through owl habitat! \nThis is designed as a drop-off program\, although the occasional parents and younger siblings stay as long as disruptions are kept to a minimum.
