SUMMARY:The Latest on Residential Solar Options & Incentives
DESCRIPTION:with Sally Pick\, SJP Environmental Consulting\nThursday\, October 20\, 7-8:30pm \nThinking about solar power (PV) for your home but not sure where to start\, if you can afford it\, and what incentives are available? In this workshop\, Sally Pick\, an area home energy consultant who served as the solar coach for Solarize Montague\, will cover the basics of how solar works\, what it requires\, its economics\, and the pros and cons of owning versus having third-party ownership of your PV system (aka leasing or Power Purchase Agreements). Sally will talk about the current incentives and loans for purchasing solar PV that minimize the upfront cost\, including the low-interest MA Solar Loan program that makes buying solar much more affordable. She’ll discuss one nonprofit’s efforts to develop small community shared solar\, an option for renters and homeowners who want solar power but do not have a good site for PV on their property. And she’ll tell you strategies and incentives for getting the most out of your solar by wasting less energy in your home. FREE but registration online appreciated.
