Amherst Walks: Harkness Brook Conservation Area

Saturday, May 1, 2021—10:00 am - 11:00 am

FREE

Join Hitchcock Educator Aemelia Thompson for this free, family-friendly, guided nature walk on the Robert Frost and Harkness Loop Trails at the Harkness Brook Conservation Area.

This walk will highlight the ecological community right in our backyard and will encourage participants to use their senses in exploration. We will look, listen, touch, and smell the world waking back up at the height of Spring time. You’ll hone your observational and identification skills on a small 1 mile loop.

As a partner piece to these walks, there will be permanent signage posted at the trailhead that will allow future hikers to access an online guided tour of the conservation areas with a quick scan of a QR code.

We encourage families with kids to attend. This site can be reached by the PVTA Route 35 & 36 bus. Please consider taking public transportation or biking as parking is limited.

Sunday, May 1, 10-11am

These walks are made possible with funding provided by the Amherst Community Council and a partnership with the Conservation Commission of Amherst.
