Support Us

Imagine a world in which we live in a dynamic relationship with nature, not using it up or wiping it out.

Join us in promoting a healthy and sustainable planet. Our success is rooted in the generous contributions of individuals, businesses, and organizations that believe in the power of educating people today for a healthier, more sustainable future tomorrow.

Please consider making a tax-deductible gift, in any amount, to one or more of the following important ways.

Donations and Membership

Memberships, and additional gifts of all sizes, are a critical part of our success in bringing innovative science and nature programming to people of all ages. As a member-supported organization, the Hitchcock Center relies on our donors to help us deliver year-round environmental education to our whole community. Learn more…

Building for the Future Capital Campaign

Our Building for the Future campaign has created a pioneering “living” environmental education center unlike anywhere else in New England.  Our one-of-a-kind new home is our newest educator and a teaching tool for new ways of thinking and learning about our environment. We have helped Massachusetts to become a nexus of “living” buildings in New England.

For more details of this transformative project and our Building for the Future campaign, visit Our Living Building Project page.

The Hitchcock Center’s annual Biothon occurs each spring when our region’s biodiversity is at its peak. You’ve heard of marathons, walk-a-thons, and dance-a-thons: this is our version! This citizen science fundraising event gets people outside in teams, exploring our local habitats and having fun enjoying the return of spring! An annual tradition and community favorite for experienced naturalists and beginners alike, Biothon is now in its 19th year!

For more details on Biothon, visit our Biothon page.

Business Partnership Program

Business Partnerships provide a network of support for bringing more low-cost and free programs to our community. Thanks to our local Business Partners, Hitchcock is expanding our service area to geographically underserved communities, and strengthening our community’s commitment to education for a healthy planet.

Our Community Program sponsors allow us to bring low- and no-cost building tours, lectures, presentations and symposiums to our whole community. Topics include energy, water, materials use, waste reduction, greening our homes, social justice and the environment, food security in the Valley, ecological design, native landscapes, and much more.

Business gifts in any amount are welcome, and help our one-of-a-kind building to be a teaching tool and catalyst for new ways of thinking and learning about building a healthier planet.

Join us in supporting our year-round programming, our monthly Second Saturday Family Science days, our Salamander Sunday Brunch, or our Battle of the Botanicals.

More information about the opportunities for recognition and partnership between your business and the Hitchcock Center is available on our Business Partnership page, or by contacting Marcus Simon, Development Coordinator, (413) 256-6006 x 104.

Scholarship Gifts

Our Nature Summer Camp programs help young people to discover the wonders of nature, make new friends, and develop self-esteem during these critical months. Scholarship gifts in any amount have a lasting impact on youths who are otherwise at risk of spending long summer days without positive outdoor experiences.

Please visit our Scholarship Fund page for more information, or contact Jeff Mazur, Environmental Educator: (413) 256-6006 x 110.

Planned Gifts

Everyone can leave a legacy. Planned gifts include bequests in one’s will, naming the Hitchcock Center as beneficiary of retirement assets, or using giving strategies such as charitable remainder trusts.

Whichever vehicle is right for you, your legacy involves thoughtful deliberation with a financial advisor to shape your gift. To learn more about options, visit our Planned Giving Glossary of Terms.

For more information about planned giving, please contact Rebecca Neimark, Director of Development, at (413) 256-6006 x 122.
