The time has arrived!! We are opening the doors to our gorgeous new environmental education center at 845 West Street tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13! Though we are still working to put the finishing touches on our building and site, we welcome learners, explores, and nature lovers of all ages to come visit our incredible new building that is free and open to all.

On June 9, over 240 guests partied with the Hitchcock Center in celebration of our award-winning science and nature education programs at the first annual Battle of the Botanicals held at the Powerhouse at Amherst College. Six teams of local chefs, mixologists, and small business owners showcased their talent in amazing cocktail and food pairing tasting stations that featured local botanicals like beets, rosemary and bee pollen.

The results from the 2016 Biothon are in. This year a record 20 teams, including 7 youth outings, participated in finding 620 different species throughout the Valley. Teams also helped to raise over $13,300 for the Hitchcock Center’s programs.

Hello and welcome to Nature Summer Camp 2016! I am incredibly excited for my first Nature Summer Camp with the Hitchcock Center. The teacher naturalists, Katie and I have been as busy as beavers around here getting ready for the first day of camp next week. We can’t wait to meet all the campers! I am super thrilled about our staff. We are lucky to have three returning counselors, three fabulous new ones, a dedicated volunteer teacher naturalist and two wonderful support staff!
