Saturday! According to the census there are over 12,000 households in Northampton. According to local house painters, there are an average of 15 cans of paint in each household's basement that will never get used. Recolor Paints in Mass takes re-usable paint and combines it with other paint to create new, vital, usable paint.

This Saturday 9 AM - 12 PM The Northampton High School Key Club is organizing a paint collection at Smith Vocational. Bring us your water based paint...so it will get re-used! This is an annual event! In 2023 they collected 1,000 cans of paint.

Join the Nature Noticers and other teams and individuals outdoors this weekend for Flora and Faunathon!

Whether you are a lifelong naturalist or simply want to appreciate and count the species in your neighborhood, Flora & Faunathon is for you! From noticing the trees and squirrels in your neighborhood, to finding rare species of birds (it’s nearly the peak time of year for bird migration) or woodland flowers on a local hiking trail (find spring ephemerals on local trails!) enjoy getting out and finding nature all around us.

If you like, you can even compete for prizes. Can you find the most bird species? Or raise the most money? Take the coolest picture?

Flora and Faunathon is happening NOW! 🌸 You can still join the fun and identify plants and animals along with us all weekend: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/hitchcockcenterfloraandfaunathon2024/team/953629/
